SEMIORTO SEMENTI is a research, selection, production and merchandising company and it has been focusing its attention on the market for leave-products (baby leaf and/or fourth selection quality). Its noticeable experience made through the years joined with a valid section work and a genetic enhancement of  varieties, made it gain high national as well as international market branch levels. We continuously invest high means in research, because we are convinced that’s the best way to reach success. A breeder pool is collaborating with research institutes and universities inland and abroad, performing engagement and high skills to get new varieties, able to face better and better market demands.   

Our research and development centre made up by labs and facilities is equipped with updated technological machineries and we enjoy the collaboration of a high qualified team, that allows us to face the requested standards of demanding producers. 

The centre does not only keep over 100 pure varieties of which Semiorto is responsible, but it also aims at new, cultivars (chard, arugola, lettuce etc.) resistant to biotic factors, through the introduction of pathogens resistant genes by means of crossbreeding among cultivated and wild sorts using innovative technologies  in  assisted selection with molecular markers. We produce seeds that our technicians check attentively at any level of their production stage, from sowing on open field to flourishing and to thresh carried out by  our technicians to guarantee pure varieties  and absence from grow over and/or pathogens. Once picked, seed is brought to our storehouse, where it undergoes humidification and selection and then it is stored in storing rooms at a steady temperature and controlled humidity. Their germinability and healthy is constantly monitored in our labors and is certified by accredited labors. We follow attentively the entire production process, because before putting our product on the market, we want to be sure having done everything to offer our best.
